First Week Fun

September 2, 2014.  The clock struck nine.  The doors opened wide and we were off to the races!  I love the crazy pace of the first week of school.  There were lots of smiles, just a few tears, and plenty of hubbub in all the classrooms.

I barely had time to take pictures with all the excitement of the first few days.  Here are some I snapped today:

We always make time for some reading.  I love how these guys are so engrossed that they didn't even notice I was there with the camera.  Not one child even turned around when the flash went off!

We did some great artwork this week.  Lots of self-portraits and even some that were "Picasso" style.

Can you tell what these are?  If you guessed that they are fire-breathing dragons, you are correct.  But they are certainly some of the friendliest dragons I've seen lately!  Miss Jackie and Miss Lisa's fours class (a.k.a. the Knights in Shining Armor) had fun making them.

Snack time is always very social.  These students finished up just in time to head to music where Miss Ann was waiting for them.

After the first week, the Counterpillar in Miss Suzanne and Miss Nancy's 4's and 5's class has a head and five body sections.  How long will it take to get to 100?  We'll just have to wait and see!

Before I knew it, it was pick-up time and our friends were headed home for the weekend.

What a great first week.  Let's do it again next week, friends!
